MOBILE THERAPY FOR SLEEP APNEA
Ultra Compact CPAP Device
Archimedic collaborated with Human Design Medical (HDM) to develop an ultra-compact, ultra-quiet continuous positive air pressure (CPAP) device.
EXPLORING USABILITY AND FORM
Industrial Design
Archimedic led the industrial design of the Z1 powerpack and powershell devices. The design process explored usability, form factors, brand placement, color selection, and various materials and textures.
MINIATURIZATION, NOISE ATTTENTATION & MANUFACTURABILITY
Electromechanical Engineering
Archimedic's team of electromechanical engineers miniaturized the electromechanical design through dense component layouts, custom PCB sizing, and housing design. Throughout this miniaturization process, the industrial design intent was strictly maintained. Additionally, the engineering team implemented baffling and noise reduction materials to reduce vibrations and resulting noise. Archimedic refined all parts and assemblies for high-volume manufacturing, including design for injection molding, sheet metal stamping, and compound screen forming.
VERIFYING FUNCTION AND PRECISION
Prototyping & Testing
After the electromechanical design was complete, we produced a series of functional prototypes and performed testing to confirm meeting the key technical requirements. The engineering team then worked closely with the selected contract manufacturing group to transition the design into full-scale production.
