VP, OPERATIONS
Navin Mathew
As VP, Operations, Navin serves as an integrator to ensure that new client engagement, project planning, project management, technical delivery, and financial management are operating effectively.
Navin has been in medical devices for over two decades. He previously led operations, strategy, and product development at organizations including Synthes (now DepuySynthes), Globus Medical, and CTL America.
As a Management Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers for 4 years from 1997, Navin was in Knowledge Management and then on the merger project of Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand.
Navin then joined Synthes Spine in Product Management in the Cervical Spine group. In this role, he was responsible for taking new products from concept to launch. He created marketing plans, forecasts, surgical technique guides, determined pricing, conducted test marketing and trained sales consultants. He moved into customer strategy and launched an initiative to identify and engage the rising star surgeons of spine, who were still in residency or fellowship, and most likely to become thought leaders in the next 10 years.
Navin joined Branch Medical Group as the General Manager in 2008 and became involved with the manufacturing and operations side of spinal implants. The organization grew from 15 to 250 mills, mill-turns, Swiss Lathes, wire EDMs, 3D printers among others, manufacturing both spinal and orthopedic implants. Branch was bought by Globus Medical and became its in-house manufacturing arm in 2015.
In 2021, Navin joined CTL Amedica as the EVP for Operations and Commercialization, focusing on streamlining the supply chain, and an evidence based management approach with data analytics.
Above all, Navin seeks to build judgment in the critical aspects of business and life, so as to live meaningfully. Therefore, he is focused on asking the right questions to drive strategic decisions in the short-term and a culture of trust and openness in the long-term. His heroes include Roger Williams, the man who despite being exiled from civilization, laid its cornerstone, through the concept of freedom of conscience and religion; William Tyndale, the Father of the English Bible, and through it, of modern English, and of the English Reformation; and Ernest Shackleton, a leader who saved all he led, through the harshest climes and over a prolonged period.
Navin lives in the northwest suburbs of Phildelphia with his wife and 3 children. He holds a BSc in Statistics from Madras Christian College and a MBA from Temple University.
