Rob LaClair
As Director of Finance and Administration, Rob LaClair leads the team on accounting, budgeting, human resourcing, and administrative functions.
Rob earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from Villanova University with a minor in Computer Science. Rob started his career in public accounting as an auditor and business process consultant at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) where his clients included aeronautical and weapons manufacturers in the federal government sector, government entities, medical centers and healthcare, colleges and universities, software and technology, environmental remediation companies, and telecommunications providers.
After 4 years at PwC, Rob then began his new role as Controller and then later as VP of Finance at SL Waber, Inc., a manufacturer of electrical and surge protection products to global retailers and custom OEM solutions. He directed financial operations including relocation of corporate operations to Oxnard, CA and subsequent carve-out and sale of a portion of the business to TrippLite in 2001.
In 2001, Rob joined as Chief Financial Officer at Octagon Research Solutions, Inc., a venture-backed start-up provider of professional regulatory and clinical consulting services and software to the Life Sciences Industry. In his 12 years at Octagon, Rob directed Finance, Legal, Human Resources and Administrative teams and helped lead and manage the raising of capital and investor relations with venture capital investors and financial institutions. He helped negotiate and facilitate the investor exit sale of the company to Accenture, LLP in 2012 and integration of the two companies through 2013.
In 2013, Rob joined ClearPoint Properties LLC. A real estate acquisition, improvement and re-sale company where he managed Finance, Legal and Construction Operations. In 2017, Rob joined as Chief Financial Officer at Active Protective Solutions, Inc., a venture-backed start-up technology company that provides a revolutionary web-enabled wearable hip-protection belt with automated airbags, as well as drive the raising of four rounds of venture capital to support product development and growth for this potential life-saving product. Just prior to joining Archimedic, Rob was Senior VP of Finance from 2022 to 2023 at ClariMed, Inc., a venture-backed start-up technology company that provides human factors engineering professional services to the medical device industry.
Rob lives in the western suburbs of Philadelphia with his wife. He also enjoys the outdoors, playing golf (and occasionally tennis or pickleball), and DIY home improvement projects.
